Soamso Ltd. is a privately owned company dedicated to the collection, processing and aerobic composting of water hyacinth plants (Eichhornia Crassipes) found in the Daule Peripa reservoir in Ecuador. The final result of the processing and aerobic composting processes is Ecogreen® - organic compost.
Our plant located a few feet away from the Daule Peripa reservoir in Ecuador, has a production capacity of 140,000 metric tons (MT)/year of organic compost.
Depending on demand, Soamso Ltd. has sufficient plant capacity and raw material to double, or triple Ecogreen®’s production/year.
The company’s motto is to give back to the soil what belongs to the soil. A crop's poor quality is the result of the debilitation, wear away, and loss of the soil's organic layer. When the soil is not regenerated; a crop’s quality begins to decrease even if significant amounts of chemical fertilizers are applied to alleviate the problem.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) recommends giving back to the soil 3 tons of organic matter/hectare/year in order to maintain a crop’s productivity. This way, what the soil loses per year due to water runoff, winds, harvest and chemical fertilizer application; is recuperated.
